Joined RN at ST. GEORGE 6/1/42 as Boy 2nd Class (with Jack West & John Early in Class D235).
Rated Boy Telegraphist 2/4/43 and joined ANSON in August 1943.
In December 1944 took passage Liverpool to Sydney in troopship ATHLONE CASTLE to join QUADRANT in the 4th D.F. in Jan 1945 for Task Force 37/57.
Transferred to NIZAM in August 1945 before joining HMAS Signal School, Melbourne for L/Tl Qualifying Course.
Rejoined ANSON in January 1946 and then transferred to COSSACK in April 1946.
Took passage back to UK in troopship VICTORIOUS and joined COCKATRICE in February 1947 sweeping minefields SW of Ireland.
Subsequently served in MERLIN, ALACRITY,MERCURY, TRIUMPH, ROCKET, CENTAUR and CAMBRIAN
before leaving RN in July 1956 on completion of 12 years C.S. engagement.
Rejoined RN in January 1957. Then servd in OWEN, GANGES, Admiralty Surfce Weapons Establishment & LONDON.
Was Chief Radio Supervisor i/c for C-in-C Portsmouth/NATO at Fort Southwick Communications Centre from 1964 to 1966 when he retired to pension.
